Meghan Markle has hit a major milestone after her latest controversial video became her second-most-watched reel on her social media, reports have claimed. The Duchess of Sussex sparked controversy this week after she uploaded a highly unusual and private family video of her and Prince Harry dancing to Starrkeisha's The Baby Momma Dance just before Princess Lilibet's birth.
While the song was a viral dancing challenge on TikTok at the time of Princess Lilibet's birth – June 4, 2021 – Meghan's video mainly gained criticism. Now, the video has become the Duchess's second-most-watched reel on her Instagram account after the one announcing her brand's new name.
Despite the Duchess keeping her view and like count hidden, People magazine reported that her dancing video has amassed 23 million views in two days of being posted.
Her most-watched reel, her As Ever announcement in February, has reportedly gathered 27million views so far.
Meghan's dancing video shows her twerking in a bid to bring on labour while pregnant with Princess Lilibet.
In the clip, a heavily pregnant Meghan is shown dancing in a hospital room alongside the Duke of Sussex.
Meghan posted on her Instagram to celebrate Lili's fourth birthday on Wednesday, writing: "Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates... so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work - there was only one thing left to do!"
The candid video, which runs for more than a minute, also features Harry, who is seen dancing in and out of the frame.
He is beckoned in by Meghan as the pair dance together, with the duke appearing at the end with the hood of his grey hoodie up as he continues his dance moves.
Meghan is wearing a black maternity dress and cradles her large bump as she dances, as well as lifting her skirt above her knees, raising her hands in the air and wiggling low with her hands on her hips and legs.
The release of the footage is one of the more unusual ways a member of the royal family has marked a royal birthday.
