President Donald J. Trump has signed a bombshell proclamation blocking foreign students from entering the United States to study at Harvard University, citing concerns over national security, radicalism, and foreign interference.

The sweeping new measure, signed today, suspends the entry of any new Harvard student on an F, M, or J visa, effectively banning foreign nationals from beginning studies or exchange programs at the Ivy League institution.

It goes even further — current Harvard students on those same visa types may have their visas revoked, under orders for the Secretary of State to consider cancellations based on specific criteria outlined in the proclamation.

While British students are not specifically mentioned, it appears from the general wording of the document that they will be affected.

Crucially however, the order does not apply to students at other U.S. universities, and exemptions remain in place for those whose entry is deemed in the national interest.

In a sharp rebuke to the prestigious university, the White House blasted Harvard’s track record, citing a “demonstrated history of concerning foreign ties and radicalism.”

The administration pointed to FBI warnings that foreign adversaries exploit U.S. academic institutions to steal research, spread propaganda, and compromise national interests.

Officials claim Harvard has failed to discipline certain categories of campus conduct violations, while experiencing a “drastic rise in crime” and providing “deficient data” on foreign students engaged in illegal or dangerous activities.

“Harvard is either not fully reporting its disciplinary records for foreign students or is not seriously policing its foreign students,” the proclamation states.

The university’s financial ties to foreign governments, especially China, are also under scrutiny. Harvard has reportedly received more than $150 million from China, allegedly hosting Chinese Communist Party paramilitary members and partnering with Chinese researchers on work that could contribute to China’s military modernization.

The document even references the attendance of Xi Jinping’s daughter at Harvard in the early 2010s, calling the institution the top "party school" outside China.

Citing growing unrest on campus, the White House also slammed Harvard’s handling of violent anti-Semitic incidents, claiming “many of these agitators” were foreign students.

On the issue of equity, the document criticizes the university’s continued use of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in admissions — saying the school prioritizes certain groups at the expense of “hardworking Americans.”

The White House concluded that Harvard is “no longer a trustworthy steward” of the international student and exchange visitor program.

President Trump, however, insisted the ban is not a blanket rejection of international students.

He said: “The students? Well, we want to have great students here. We just don’t want students that are causing trouble. We want to have students. I want to have foreign students.”

“We have people who want to go to Harvard and other schools, they can’t get in because we have foreign students there. But I want to make sure that the foreign students are people that can love our country.”

And in a final warning to the university, Trump added:

“We are still waiting for the Foreign Student Lists from Harvard so that we can determine, after a ridiculous expenditure of BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, how many radicalized lunatics, troublemakers all, should not be let back into our Country. Harvard is very slow in the presentation of these documents, and probably for good reason!”

The proclamation is sure to spark backlash from Harvard and civil liberties groups, but the Trump White House insists it is a necessary step to protect the American people from security threats within the nation’s own academic institutions.
