A major motorway has been closed in both directions following a serious multiple collision. The National Highways shared that the M6toll is closed between T6 (near Brownhills) and T4 (Shenstone).
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, scrambled to the scene as the authorities began to investigate the incident. The National Highways stated: "Police are in attendance and will be completing investigation work at the scene. National Highways Traffic Officers and service providers are assisting with traffic management." Motorists have been warned of travel delays as the authorities laid down the diversion route to follow.
The National Highways added: "Traffic is being diverted via local routes at this stage."
The M6 Toll in Staffordshire is a paid route that links to the M6 motorway, serving as a bypass around Birmingham.
Also referred to as the Birmingham North Relief Road (BNRR) or Midland Expressway, it helps drivers avoid congestion on the M6 and provides a quicker alternative to reach destinations across the Midlands.
