Ukraine faces a growing risk of depleted missile supplies as the conflict in the Middle East draws down Western stockpiles and manufacturing capacity, President Volodymyr Zelensky warned during talks in London.

He argued that an extended confrontation involving the US, Israel and Iran diverts military resources and attention away from Kyiv, while also driving up energy prices that harm Ukraine's economy.

Zelensky said these effects help Russia by weakening international support for Ukraine. The president singled out air-defence systems, saying shortages of Patriot missiles are likely to become a serious problem.

He noted US production runs at roughly 60–65 missiles a month — about 700–800 a year — while the first day of the Middle East strikes saw more than 800 missiles launched, a pace that quickly erodes available reserves.

Zelensky also commented on US politics, describing Donald Trump as preferring a mediator role rather than taking a clear side in the Russia war. He urged a meeting between Trump and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to forge a common Western position and avoid divisions among allies.

In London, Zelensky met Starmer and addressed MPs, warning that Moscow and Tehran share both rhetoric and weapons.

He is travelling through Europe — having visited Paris and heading next to Madrid — to press for continued support and unity. With Western leaders distracted by the new regional war, Zelensky called for sustained aid to prevent Russia from exploiting the situation.

He stressed that cohesion among allies is essential if Ukraine is to weather both the military and diplomatic pressures ahead.
