Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou jokes he'll be 'killed off' as he's kept in the dark | Football | Sport![]() Ange Postecoglou joked that the main character is often ‘killed off’ in season three as the Tottenham boss waits to hear whether he will survive another year. It comes after the Europa League-winning boss told jubilant fans that season three of a television series is often better than season two. Postecoglou had promised supporters a trophy and duly delivered. A 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League showdown continued the 59-year-old's habit of winning silverware in his second campaign at a club. However, he now admits that he should have thought about the analogy a little harder, realising that characters are sometimes written out of shows in season three. Despite the European success, Postecoglou has overseen a disastrous Premier League campaign that could see Spurs finish 17th, a place outside of the relegation zone. The Australian said: “I should have thought about it a bit more. Sometimes they kill off the main character [in season three]. I could be in strife there. I said before the game that we’re building something and a significant win accelerates that. “I really believe that’s the case and I’m not going to put a limit on what we can achieve. It’s exciting, the possibilities of next year, knowing I’ve got a group of players, staff, and a club that knows what it takes to win and wants more of it.” Postecoglou is yet to speak with chairman Daniel Levy over his future, adding: “I haven’t had any discussions, like I said before the game. I haven’t had any discussions with the club. Maybe they’re just waiting for some clear air to give me some guidance. I haven’t heard from the club.” We'll be bringing you the very latest updates, pictures and video on this breaking news story.
