Bathroom drains are cleared with 1 plumber-approved method![]() A plumber-approved cleaning hack for shower drains works great, says one TikTok user. Shower drains get clogged quite often as hair and other debris fall down and run into the hole. It can become quite an inconvenience for homeowners and renters as it can lead to water filling up in the bottom of the shower, creating a puddle you have to stand in as you clean yourself. But there is one hack that you may have never tried and it involves one item you might already have in your home. TikTok user, Tsagana, shared the trick in a viral video which has been viewed an impressive 6.5 million times since it was first posted on May 15. In the clip, Tsagana reveals that her plumber taught her this trick and says that she can't believe that she didn't know about this "genius hack" earlier. She shows exactly how she does it and uses two simple tools to get huge amounts of hair out of the shower drain without having to use any chemical solutions. The viral video, which has been saved by 64,000 TikTok users, shows the mum taking a zip tie and a pair of scissors to create a sort of hook. She uses the scissors to cut a series of diagonal lines into the zip tie. This, she displays, creates a way for the zip tie to grab hair and other things that have become stuck in the drain. She feeds the long zip tie down the drain and then begins to pull it out, showing the massive amount of hair that is dislodged. Households regularly have to clear drains and often opt for a chemical drtain cleaner which has to be left to sit for some time. However, using a zip tie might be a more eco-friendly and straight-forward way to get this job done without buying anything more from the supermarket. Other TikTok users were amazed by the hack. One of them commented: "Me and my daughter fight over doing this job, we love it, so satisfying." However, another said: "This is up there with one of the worst jobs around the house." A third suggested: "But, there is this thing called, drain snake. Readily available. It is has very reliable handle to hold. And it is cheap. You can reuse it. You don’t need a plier to hold that. Highly recommended." Source link Posted: 2025-05-24 03:33:52 |
