Salmon will be juicy and tender in minutes if cooked with 4 ingredients

Fish is an ingredient that should be on the menu at home at least once a week as it’s a great source of protein and is rich in minerals and vitamins. Oily fish in particular - like salmon - is recommended as it’s high in omega-3 fatty acids which can help to keep your heart healthy, and it tastes pretty good too. Fish can be tricky to cook at home, but luckily baked salmon is one of the easier options to tackle so even if you’re a beginner in the kitchen, you should be able to handle the cooking without any problems.

By baking the salmon, the oven effectively does all the hard work so all you need to do is prep the fish before cooking. According to the Kitchen Sanctuary, all you need to achieve a juicy, tender and tasty salmon is four added ingredients: unsalted butter, honey, garlic and lemon.

Simply melt two tablespoons of unsalted butter in a pan, along with two tablespoons of honey followed by two cloves of minced garlic. If you want an extra kick of flavour you could throw in a selection of herbs and spices of your choosing, but the recipe still works without this.

The Kitchen Sanctuary recommends a combination of pepper, salt, dried parsley and paprika, but you can alter this according to your preferences.

Once this has all been combined, simply pour the mixture over the salmon fillets, which need to be evenly spaced skin side-down on a baking tray, and then place some lemon wedges on top.

Then simply bake in the oven at 200C for eight minutes. After eight minutes, open the oven and baste the salmon with any of the sauce that has run off onto the baking tray and then bake for a further four to seven minutes until the salmon is lovely and tender.

The Kitchen Sanctuary explains: “This is the best baked salmon recipe in the world! Stir a few simple ingredients together, pour over salmon and bake for 12-15 minutes. Done.

“Place the salmon fillets skin-side-down on the baking tray. Mix together melted butter, garlic, honey, parsley, salt, pepper and paprika and pour over the salmon fillets. Arrange the lemon wedges on and around the salmon. Bake for 12-15 minutes, basting once during cooking.

“That’s it! Tender, fall-apart salmon with a lovely sticky-garlic glaze. You could also double up the sauce if you like, then you have more to drizzle on when you come to serve.”
