Britain's Got Talent returned to screens tonight for its fourth semi-final this series. Competing for spots in the final were Hear Our Voice, IDOLLS, Papi Bucket, TK Magic, Joseph Charm, Maya Giotea, Max Fox and Obsequious. Joseph Charm received the Golden Buzzer from judge Alesha Dixon and choir Hear Our Voice received the public vote to sail through to the BGT final. Former show winner Paul Potts, who was the first person to win the contest in 2007 with his impressive rendition of Nessun dorma during his audition, has weighed in on this year's contestants, speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk on behalf of Sky Vegas.

The opera singer admitted he is getting "tired" of the same songs being used with musical acts. He also admitted he feared King Charles would not enjoy some of the more outlandish performances when the chosen winner gets to perform at the annual Royal Variety Show. It comes after Bao Cuong, 45, returned to the BGT stage last week after his first audition left viewers "gagging". The judges watched in horror as the performer swallowed flaming weapons. Ant and Dec looked horrified while they got on a motorcycle car which Bao pulled using just his eyes.

Paul explained: “I just wonder how Bao Cuong even trains for something like his act – how do you train your eyelids to pull things? I genuinely can’t imagine it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely a talent. But with Auzzy Blood, there was more showmanship.

You could easily picture him performing that act in Vegas – if he’s not already doing it there already. The King might wince a little!”

Ultimately, Bao failed to advance to the Grand Final - with Ping Pong Pang and Jasmine Rice qualifying.

Ofcom revealed that May 10's Britain's Got Talent episode received 65 complaints.

They confirmed to The Mirror that the majority of them were related to Bao’s extreme routine.

Meanwhile, Paul weighed in on Jasmine Rice's performance, who sang Never Enough from the musical The Greatest Showman. The performance received a standing ovation and prompted Bruno to use his Golden Buzzer.

He commented: "As for Jasmine Rice, I’m not saying she didn’t deserve the Golden Buzzer – but personally, I’m getting a bit tired of hearing ‘Never Enough’. I never want to hear it again, to be honest. It’s been used so often on shows like this that it’s become a bit of a cliché. I know Simon [Cowell] loves it, and Amanda [Holden] is a big fan of The Greatest Showman.

“The same could be said for ‘Nessun Dorma’, of course. What I’d really love is to hear more shades and subtleties in Jasmine’s voice.

So far, we've mostly heard the powerful side, but not much light and shade. Her performance started quietly, but once it built up, it stayed at that same loud intensity. Don’t get me wrong – she has a great voice – but her performance could benefit from more variety."
