Stardew Valley creator drops the sequel hint fans have been waiting for | Gaming | Entertainment

Stardew Valley creator Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone has dropped the biggest hint yet that a sequel could be on the way.

Inspired by the likes of Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley is one of the best farming games ever made, earning overwhelmingly positive scores on Steam.

The game released all the way back in 2016, and has been regularly updated with new features and content in the near decade since launch.

Despite all of the new features and content updates, there are many fans (myself included) that would love to see a sequel. Barone addressed the release of a sequel during a recent interview with TigerBelly.

In an interview that can be viewed on YouTube, TigerBelly asked Barone why he continues to release content updates instead of creating a sequel.

"It's so much easier to just add more stuff to Stardew Valley than to make a whole new game from scratch," Barone replied.

"It’s all the systems — all the major systems — are already all done. That’s the stuff that’s not fun to do."

However, after further explaination, Barone hinted that Stardew Valley sequel could eventually happen.

“I might eventually make a Stardew Valley 2, to be honest,” he added.

Despite his comments, fans probably shouldn't expect the sequel to launch anytime soon.

Barone continues to release content updates for Stardew Valley, and is also working on a brand new game called Haunted Chocolatier.

Stardew Valley tasks players with running their very own farm, all the while building connections with their fellow villagers and helping to improve the town.

In addition to daily farm tasks like planting seeds, harvesting crops and feeding animals, you'll hunt for rare materials down the mines, rebuild the community centre and attend local festivals.

Not only is it one of the most addictive games of all time, but Stardew Valley is also one of the most relaxing.

It's also Steam Deck Verified, which means you can play it on the go without having to mess around with any settings.

Stardew Valley is also available on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
