Crown objects to question it considers inappropriate

After showing video of E.M. talking to McLeod at the bar, Brown presses her on her earlier statements that she doesn’t remember any conversations with him, so she didn’t know a lot about him.

“In my mind, we hadn’t had any conversations because I didn’t remember any conversations,” she tells him.

“That was your truth, but not the truth, right?” Brown asks.

She responds she doesn’t remember conversations.

He continues. “How would anyone know that your truth wasn’t THE truth?”

E.M. says she’s not sure, that she was telling police what she remembered and figured they’d look at surveillance tapes during their investigation.

“I don’t recall any conversations. I was really drunk,” she says.

“Just not your problem, right? It’s these boys’ problem?”

The Crown jumps up and says that’s not appropriate.

The judge agrees, and Brown apologizes.
