Amazon cuts £120 off Galaxy Watch that's 'Samsung at its best'

Amazon has gone head to head with Samsung by slashing the price of a Galaxy Watch in its Prime sale. The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic has been reduced from £369 to £249, matching the same deal offered by Samsung. This price is available for Amazon Prime members or those signing up for a Prime 30-day free trial, with discounts also up for grabs on the standard Galaxy Watch7 (£244). Samsung says the Watch6 Classic is inspired by the ‘iconic design’ of diving watches, with this model featuring a 1.3” AMOLED display crafted with Sapphire Crystal glass to protect against scratches. Available in silver or black, the stainless steel gadget also boasts IP68 and 5ATM water-resistance ratings, with a rotating bezel for selection of different apps and functions. It’s ideal for health and fitness fanatics as it can monitor heart rate, blood pressure and sleep, with tracking or more than 90 different workouts including running, walking and cycling.

Other functions include making calls, sending texts and streaming music directly from the watch. The watch’s fast-charge feature can reach up to 45% battery life in 30 minutes, with a full charge offering up to 40 hours of runtime. It’s compatible with smartphones running Android 10 or above and has 16GB of storage so there’s plenty of room for apps. For those who prefer to spread the cost of their devices and avoid forking out hundreds at once, Sky Mobile offers both the Galaxy Watch6 Classic and Galaxy Watch7 for £13 and £10 respectively.

However, keep in mind that paying these prices means signing up for a 36-month contract. The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic has earned a 4.5-star rating from 393 Amazon reviews – 89% of which are four or five stars.

One buyer said: “Samsung at its best. Lovely watch, does far more than I would have imagined. [It] syncs great with my Samsung phone and apps, comfortable wear, good battery life – I’ve got over two days use with the screen constantly lit. Glad I took the plunge and bought one, looks great as well.”

Another said: “What a fabulous smartwatch. The strap is comfortable and soft and the movement of the bezel is smooth and effortless. I like answering calls and talking without having to open my mobile phone. This watch is a godsend if you are into health and fitness and the easily accessible health apps are at your finger tips. Some might find the watch to be heavy on the wrist, but I find it to be OK.”

However, despite their five-star review, the same buyer added: “On the negative side, the battery isn’t lasting as long as I thought it would. I am charging it at least twice a day, which is disappointing. I’m certainly enjoying wearing this watch and I think it is a good price.”

But more happy customers have hailed the Watch6 Classic as ‘versatile’, ‘well built’ and ‘great for sports and health tracking’, with others noting its ‘great’ battery life.
