Argos slashes 20% off gadget that 'tidies garden in minutes'

Warmer weather is approaching, and many of us are getting our outdoor spaces into shape, not least attempting to get the grass looking as good as possible. Taming your lawn takes time and effort, but you also need the right tools to do it – including a decent trimmer.

Argos shoppers are praising a gadget that helps with tidying up the garden. The Spear and Jackson Cordless Grass Trimmer is on sale with 20% off, so you can buy it for £60 instead of £75 right now.

If you want to keep edges neat and get into areas that are hard to reach with a mower, a trimmer might be a beneficial addition to your gardening equipment. This one is completely cordless, and you can charge it up in just an hour, with the battery life gaining praise in the reviews.

Unlike bulky machinery, it's a compact device so it's easier to use on areas that require precision, for example the edge of flower beds where you want to trim grass but avoid harming your plants. You can shorten or lengthen the trimmer to suit your height, and the angle can be adjusted using a foot pedal, which means you can trim grass and weeds underneath heavy garden furniture that you don't want to move.

Hundreds of Argos reviews have awarded the grass trimmer a 4.5 star rating, with one saying: ''This made doing garden easy, I had all the edges tidied in minutes.''

Another shopper added: ''Easy to assemble, the battery is very quick to charge and gives a fair run time, cutting line appears strong enough to deal with grass and light weeds.''

However one left a mixed review, commenting: ''Seems to work pretty well. Battery life is better than I expected. It's a bit fiddly to change the angle of cutter to trim edges but generally a good buy so far and not too expensive.''
