Travel operator launches cheap £4 UK tickets starting next week | UK | News

A UK transport operator has announced intercity tickets for just £4 launching next week. FlixBus is offering the discounted fares as part of its fourth anniversary in the UK and will also begin new and expanded coach routes across the country. To secure cheaper tickets, customers should book for travel between April 23 and June 30 2025.

A number of new destinations have been introduced by the operator this week, including Cheltenham, Gloucester, Swindon and Norwich, meaning the coach company now has a network of over 80 locations. Promotional £4 tickets will also be available on new routes to Bath, Chippenham, Newquay, Weston-Super-Mare, Bournemouth, Southampton and Poole, which all launch in mid-May. Andreas Schorling, senior managing director of FlixBus UK said: “Travel is fun and should be for everyone! FlixBus is making it so easy enjoy trips across the country to see loved ones and explore new places on the smallest of budgets.

“We have come so far in four years, and we’re incredibly proud of the network we’re delivering for our passengers and the economic impact we have on local communities. The popularity of our services has been nothing short of phenomenal and we continue growing to meet demand.”

By the summer, over 200 of the brand’s green buses will be travelling British roads, which have earned strong TrustPilot scores and customer reviews.

In a statement, it pointed to figures from the Confederation of Passenger Transport, which conducted analysis showing an additional coach per day to a town or city delivers around £1m to local economies.

German-owned FlixBus has operated in the UK since 2021 but offers low-cost intercity coach services across Europe, North America, South America and Asia.

In 2023, the company made £1.71 billion in revenue and transported 81 million passengers, of which 55 million were in Europe.

After being established in Munich in 2011 by three university friends, the brand launched its first three routes two years later in Germany’s Bavaria region.

In April 2018, it became the first coach operator to use all-electric vehicles on a long-distance bus route, between Paris and Amiens.
