Prince Harry has often spoken about how he keeps his late mother close in his day-to-day life and how he is instilling her memory in his own children, Prince Archie, five and Princess Lilibet, three. But this belief grew even further when he and his wife, when they were senior royals, embarked upon a 16-day tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji in 2018.

According to royal author, Tom Bower, the couple felt they had been "blessed" by "Diana's magic" but failed to recognise that the late princess spent several years building up her public image, especially after her separation from the-then Prince Charles.

In 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War with the Windsors', Mr Bower claims the couple felt their success was down to the fact that they had been "blessed" by Princess Diana. He wrote: "The Sussexes had convinced themselves that their Australian success blessed them with Diana’s magic. Meghan could not understand that Diana had won the public's affection after years of work."

The royal author added: "Neither she nor Harry could grasp that emulating Diana required time, to weave a narrative and create a brand from which influence would flow."

According to Diana, Princess of Wales' biographer Andrew Morton, Prince Harry uses a certain method to keep Diana close to him.

Speaking to The Mirror's podcast, Mr Morton revealed that Prince Harry will reportedly never make a decision without consulting Diana's spirit.

He said: "I think that Diana's influence has lasted longer than anybody thought because her torchbearers in life, William and Harry, have not forgotten her and have held concerts in her memory. Harry himself says that he never makes a decision without referring it to her in a spiritual sense.

He also stresses how Diana made the "Royal Family more relevant to modern times".

Harry writes about his mother and his grief throughout his book, Spare, and says how his sadness over the death of his mother, Diana, led him to seek help from a woman who "claimed to have ‘powers’" and to be able to relay a message.

The prince says he "recognised the high-percentage chance of humbuggery" but went to meet the woman because trusted friends recommended her.

"The minute we sat down together," he writes, "I felt an energy around her."

The Prince says the woman told him she felt an energy around him too, and said: "Your mother is with you." Harry replied: "I know. I’ve felt that of late."
