According to the latest rumours, Amazon MGM’s solution is to take Bond back to his Ian Fleming novel roots with a 1950s setting. According to The Sun’s insider: “They can’t just pretend [Bond’s death] didn’t happen. So they’re looking at his story as a younger man in a different era.” Meanwhile, actor Daniel Mays told the We’re Not Getting Any Younger podcast: “I heard a rumour they’re going to cast someone very young and go back to the origins. They’re going to have all the retro cars and that sort of stuff — and start again. I think that would be kind of cool.” And if that wasn’t enough, there are (Double-O) seven young stars who are apparently in the running to be cast by producers David Heyman and Amy Pascal.
