BBC Breakfast star Sally Nugent's quiet life in village where homes fetch £681k

Sally Nugent, a renowned TV presenter and newsreader, is best known for her role on BBC Breakfast. Born on the Wirral Peninsula, the 53-year-old holds a degree in Communication Arts and French from the University of Huddersfield. She kick-started her career at BBC Radio Merseyside before transitioning to a reporter and newsreader role for BBC North West Tonight.

In 2003, she took on the role of a sports reporter for BBC News, later becoming a sports news presenter on the BBC News Channel. During her tenure there, she covered the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany and anchored Sportsday from the location, Express.co.uk previously reported.

Following this, she briefly served as a news correspondent on TV and radio and a relief presenter on the BBC News Channel.

In 2011, she began co-presenting BBC Breakfast, stepping in when the regular hosts were absent or unavailable.

From Christmas Eve 2012 to September 2021, she became a regular co-presenter on the show.

As of October 2021, she has been a permanent presenter on BBC Breakfast, working alongside Jon Kay, Charlie Stayt, and Naga Munchetty after taking over from Louise Minchin.

Sally was married to Gavin Hawthorn, but they announced their separation in 2023 after 13 years of marriage.

The presenter, who has one son, is believed to reside in Hale, Greater Manchester. Her home, featuring a traditional kitchen and a minimalist bedroom, is impeccably decorated throughout.

Her residence boasts parquet flooring in several areas, high ceilings, picture rails and neutral decor.

Hale, located in the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford in Greater Manchester and home to around 15,300 residents, is a sought-after residential area just 10 miles from Manchester City centre.

According to Rightmove, properties in Hale had an overall average price of £681,128 over the last year, at the time of writing.

Terraced properties made up the majority of sales in Hale during the last year, selling for an average price of £505,989.

Detached properties fetched an average of £1,175,470, while semi-detached properties were sold for an average of £722,105.
