Lewis Hamilton makes big change after turning 40 and says he wants to have kids | F1 | Sport

Lewis Hamilton is embracing change ahead of his first Grand Prix as a Ferrari driver. The former Mercedes man is not only going through a period of transition on the track, he is also looking to switch things up in two other important aspects of his life.

As a seven-time world champion, one could be forgiven for assuming that Hamilton's sole focus has been on F1 during his distinguished motorsport career. But he is also a major player in the fashion world, having held endorsements with the likes of Dior, Lululemon and Tommy Hilfiger, and launched his own clothing line, Plus 44.

While some drivers stroll into the paddock dressed like your average Joe, Hamilton is often seen wearing something eye-catching. And he admits that, having turned 40 in January, his dress sense has taken a step in a different direction.

"Absolutely true," he told Corriere della Sera. "My style is constantly evolving. Fashion never stops, just like sports. The more I study it, the more I know how I want to present myself. I have entered a new decade of my life and I asked myself: 'What do I change?' I can’t wear the same things as last year."

Hamilton was looking suave when he announced his arrival at Ferrari to the world, and will no doubt keep up his old habits as he settles into a team from a country famed for its fashion sense.

From a change in team to a change in style, Hamilton has also revealed that he is open to a change in his family life. The Stevenage-born racer recently told TIME that the fact he has no children is part of what makes him 'built different' as a competitor.

But he has now clarified: "I was just talking about myself, I don't judge others. If I had a child, I would have all eyes on them because I love children. I feel like a lucky uncle to spend time with my nephews and nieces.

"But now the only goal is to win the title, grow and take the team forward. I admire those who manage to do their job well and also raise three children. I have no regrets, I'm happy where I am: I want to attack at my best."

And when asked whether he can imagine himself becoming a father one day, Hamilton said: "Yes, I would love to."
