Ringo Starr, 84, performs Beatles classic live with music stars in new footage | Music | Entertainment

With the release of his new Country album Look Up, Sir Ringo Starr has been performing a couple of concerts in Nashville, Tennessee.

Last night on CBS, his concert Ringo & Friends at the Ryman, which took place on January 15, was broadcast in aid of the American Red Cross and those affected by the LA fires.

The 84-year-old drummer said in a statement, “It is always a thrill to play the Ryman, and this time, we are going country!”

“[Producer] T Bone has put together a great show. It was two nights of peace, love and country music.”

Performing alongside the Beatles legend were a whole host of music stars.

Ringo was joined on stage by the likes of Sheryl Crow, Brenda Lee and Jack White during his two nights at the Ryman Auditorium. Posting a clip on his Instagram, the star was captured performing With a Little Help from My Friends as fans in audience sang along. The second track of 1967’s album Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was primarily penned by Sir Paul McCartney with contributions from John Lennon, but Macca wrote the lead vocals for Ringo.

With a Little Help From My Friends concluded the show after a host of Beatles songs throughout the set. The concert began with Carl Perkins’ Matchbox, which the Fab Four covered. Also featured were the Beatles’ very own Octopus’s Garden, Don’t Pass Me By, I Don’t Want to Spoil the Party, I Wanna Be Your Man, What Goes On and Yellow Submarine, before the big finale.
