Princess Kate has a number of sport-based hobbies such as swimming and walking, however it is not only sports that the princess enjoys in her spare time. Although more unusual, the Princess of Wales, 43, enjoys beekeeping and has her very own beehive at her Amner Hall home in Norfolk, which she visits during half-terms and the summer holiday. While Kate has only shared very little information about her beehive, she first revealed her hobby in June 2021 during a visit to The Natural History Museum.

When meeting some young children to learn about the Urban Nature Project, Kate brought some honey and asked the children at the event: “Would you like to try some? This came specially from my beehive.”

However, while the hobby may seem unusual, it turns out that beekeeping is now something she shares with two family members, including her estranged sister-in-law Meghan Markle.

In Meghan’s new Netflix show “With Love, Meghan”, which was released on Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, revealed that she had been making honey from her own beehive which she had been invested in for over a year.

In episode two of the cooking show, Meghan can be seen using her “bee voice” while collecting honey from the hive.

The duchess looked delighted doing this and revealed that she now appreciates honey so much.

As well as being a passion of both Kate’s and Meghan’s, beekeeping is also very important to King Charles, 76, who also has beehives, along with Queen Camilla, 77.

According to various reports, the monarch has these at his Clarence House home in London and at his Highgrove House country home in Tetbury, where he has always spent a large proportion of his time.

There are also beehives at both Buckingham Palace and Sandringham House.

As reported by the Royal Family’s official website, the two beehives at Clarence House are home to over 90,000 bees and produce around 40lbs of honey a year.
