It's that time of year where people will getting on a plane to chase the sun. Whether your ideal holiday is lounging and tanning in the sun or exploring new waters, a clean beach will make any holiday better.

While Spain is known for is long list of incredible beaches, having a coastline that spans over 8,000 kilometers (4,971 miles), it can be difficult to pick out one as the best one. However, Levante Beach in Benidorm is often crowned as the 'cleanest beach' in Europe.

While it may come as a surprise, as most people would associate the popoular holiday destination as a place to party, Benidorm has a 'secret' hidden side that many people might not realise.

Taking to social media to shared everything that Benidorm has to offer, ITV's Benidorm star and singer Asa Elliott has highlighted the side of the holiday destination that doesn't get as much attention as he think it deserves.

“People who’ve never been to Benidorm before often ask me whether they should come and visit and why. So if you’ve never been, you might just think that it’s drinking, it’s loud, it’s brash and it’s crazy," Asa said at the start of the TikTok video.

“Now, there is a side to the town that is like that. But the one thing that I’ll tell people if you’ve not been here and why should is because of this place," Asa said before showing off the beach that was behind him, with its white sandy beach and bright blue water.

“This is Benidorm’s Levante Beach," Asa revealed. "It’s got palm trees on it, it’s got beautiful clean sands, deck chairs if you want them, and this whole walk that you can do in both directions, the full length of Levante Beach.

"It is stunning and all down the beach, you’ve got restaurants, you’ve got shops, you got loads of places to grab a coffee and just relax."

"If you don’t want to go to the crazy parts of Benidorm, you don’t, you can easily miss it," he told viewers.

He then went on to reveal what other things the town had to offer, which were all located within walking distance from Levante Beach.

“And down this way," he said pointing down one way of the beach walk, "You’ve got the old town and Poniente Beach, which is a completely different affair altogether. It’s more Spanish down that way, you can get more authentic Spanish tapas, and just have a completely different holiday than if yous was in the Bedlam of the main square and main strip.

“So if you’ve never been to Benidorm, this is what it looks like in April. It is glorious," he said, showing off the sunny beach. "The beach is one of the cleanest in Europe, and it’s just a great place to come and visit. Check it out."

Taking to the comments, viewers went on to share their own thoughts of the Spanish holiday destination. Many agreed that Benidorm is often judged unfairly by people who haven't actually visited themselves.
