A massive fire is tearing through a maternity hospital in Bristol.
Photo and video footage shows plumes of black smoke filling the entire Bristol skyline as a fire burns through the roof of Saint Michael's Hospital on Southwell Street.
Emergency services are already at the scene, with multiple crews battling the flames.
The public has been asked to avoid the area where possible.
Avon Fire and Rescue said: "We're currently responding to a fire on Southwell Street, Bristol. We encourage people to avoid the area while we deal with the incident. Further updates will be issued in due course."
