Tragedy struck at a Weston-super-Mare gym where an individual has tragically lost their life.
The incident unfolded at the PureGym located in Gallagher Retail Park on the morning of Wednesday, May 14, prompting emergency services to rush to the scene.
Staff and fellow gym-goers quickly attempted to provide immediate aid to the victim.
Despite the rapid response and paramedics' attempts to save the individual, they were pronounced dead at the location.
Following the distressing event, the gym was temporarily shut down yesterday morning but has now been confirmed to be back in operation, reports <a href="https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/person-dies-after-incident-puregym-10185684" rel="Follow" target="_self">Bristol Live</a>.
Curious onlookers at the time were left asking, "Why is PureGym shut and when will it open".
In a statement, a spokesperson for PureGym disclosed: "We can confirm that very sadly a member died at PureGym Weston-Super-Mare yesterday morning."
They added: "Our gym team and other members promptly assisted the individual, using our emergency red help point to call for further assistance.
"Paramedics arrived swiftly, but despite their best efforts the member sadly passed away.
"We extend our sincere condolences to their family and friends."" the spokesperson concluded, offering heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and friends.
