Prince Harry's Invictus Games could be set to take place in Nigeria in 2029. Prince Harry and Meghan spent three days in Nigeria, promoting the Invictus Games in May 2024. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Baba-Jallah Epega, a Marketing & Events expert who was invovled in organising aspects of the trip said Harry was "really sincere about that".

"I'm working on bringing Invictus to Nigeria with a team in Nigeria in 2029. It would be massive, and Harry was really sincere about that," he said. Indeed he said he believed the highlight of the trip was Meghan and Harry meeting injured soldiers. "It's something that we brought a bit of joy in that time, especially Meghan coming to meet invalid soldiers. That was the positive side that I saw (of the trip), because there was a tsunami of love. Anyone bringing joy or positivity to Nigeria like that is like a funny day on Friday," Baba laughed.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Prince Harry for comment.

The Invictus Games was founded by Prince Harry in 2014 and is an international sports competition for wounded, injured and sick servicement and women, both serving and veterans. The focus is on participation and personal bests rather than medal counts.

Harry and Meghan made the trip after receiving an invitation from Nigeria’s Defence Ministry at the last Invictus Games tournament in Germany last September.

It was their first trip to the country and came after Meghan revealed she has Nigerian ancestry. According to Baba, the Nigerian people felli in love with her thanks to her ties to the country.

"She was very demure and she played the happy wife and Nigerian people loved her coming because she has Nigerian DNA," he said.

While in Nigeria, Meghan also took an interest in a charity which Baba-JAllah is involved with, The Richard Coker Foundation, which helps children with sickle cell disease.

The inherited blood disorder that affects hemoglobin, the protein that carries oxygen through the body is more prevalent in people of African and caribbean descent.

"We did discuss was the Richard Coker Foundation, which is my charity that helps children with sickle cell blood.

"She knew about it and admitted she hadn't done a test so I told her she should do that," Baba-Jallah said.
