Meghan said while speaking at the TIME100 summit: "I'm conscious of not just raising a very strong and confident young woman, but also having a son, I think is just as paramount of importance for young men to be raised with a confidence and sense of self that is going to empower the women around them too."

She added: "So I try to model that behaviour, but again, it starts with whatever is going on internally. "

Last year, during their trip to Nigeria, Meghan said: "Being a mum has always been a dream of mine. And I'm so fortunate that we have two beautiful, healthy, very chatty sweet children."

The duchess also marked Mother's Day in the UK back in March by sharing a photo of a lemon tart on her official Instagram account.

She captioned the post: "Our family tradition. Mothering Sunday in the UK."

Last week, the Sussexes held a party for Archie, who turned six on Tueday, on the same day his father travelled to Las Vegas to attend a panel discussion.

Meghan said in a post on Instagram marking her son's birthday: "Our son. Our sun. Happy 6th birthday to Archie! Thank you for all of the love, prayers, and warm wishes for our sweet boy. He’s six! Where did the time go?

"And for all of you who came to celebrate with us at his party last weekend, thank you for making his birthday so incredibly special."
