Emmy award winning TV producer Carolyn Raskin, who worked on four highly rated Frank Sinatra TV specials and, later in her career directed Ozzy Osbourne in concert in Salt Lake City, has died at the age of 97. The star's death occured at her home in Sherman Oaks, on September 24 but her her nephew Mark Raskin told The Hollywood Reporter her family chose not to announce it until now.

Raskin got her start in 1957 when she moved to Los Angeles and was hired as a typist in the music department at CBS. Two years later in 1959 she landed a gig in as a producer’s assistant on The Dinah Shore Chevy Show and was an associate producer on the program from 1961-63. However it was her work with entertainment icon Frank Sinatra which would really thrust her to the fore of her career. She co-produced the Frank Sinatra: A Man and His Music specials at NBC in 1965, 1966 and 1967. She also worked on another Sinatra special for CBS in 1969.

In 1967 she took a role as an associate producer on the iconic comedy series Rowand And Martin's Laugh-In, later being promoted to co-producer for the next three seasons until March 1971.

She received four Emmys nominations for her work on that show and had a shared win with Paul Keyes, Dan Rowan and Dick Martin in 1969.

She also received a Daytime Emmy for producing Dinah! in 1976.

In 1968, she as named as a Woman of the Year by the Los Angeles Times for her accomplishments in television.

She worked produced further specials for huge names such as Roger Miller, Wayne Newton, Diahann Carroll, Helen Reddy, Beverly Sills and Bob Hope.

In 1984 she directed Ozzy Osbourne in concert in Salt Lake City while he was supporting his Bark at the Moon album.

“You need three things in this business. One is creative genius, then comes drive and maturation. I fit in the third category. My job is relating,” ” she once said.

She never married or had children and is survived her nephews, Mark Barry and Greg, and her niece, Denise.
