Tom Hardy has subtly addressed a long-standing rumour that he has undergone a secret cosmetic procedure to alter his appearance. Many fans of The Dark Knight Rises actor have been convinced that the 47-year-old had a hair transplant—and now he’s broken his silence on the matter.
Tom discussed his hair during a viral interview with Hits Radio UK host Will Best, 40. During the chat, the Celebrity Big Brother co-presenter revealed that he believed he and Tom actually had a “few things in common”.
However, before learning what paired him and Will together, the father-of-two cut in, telling Will that he was impressed by the clothes he’d chosen to conduct the interview in. “I like your socks…I do like your jumper as well actually,” the icon remarked.
“Are you ‘77? You look good on it man. You look better than I do.” “I wouldn’t say that,” replied Will, before the Peaky Blinders favourite continued. “Got your own hair and everything. I’ve got someone else’s.”
The ITV star remarked that he thought Tom’s hair was “beautiful”. He added: “They might want it back, it’s that good.”
It’s unclear whether or not Tom, who was born Edward Thomas Hardy, used the interview to confirm whether or not he’d had a transplant, or if he was just joking with his interviewer.
Some social media users believe the London native was actually speaking about wearing hair pieces for his new Netflix movie, Havoc.
“He made a comment in a recent interview about him wearing somebody else's hair,” one fan typed. “Thought it was in reference to him wearing pieces for Havoc and V3 reshoots when he had the buzz. But ppl speculating ab it.” (Sic)
The Venom actor has also discussed how he feels about the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences adding a Stunt category at the beginning of 2028.
Speaking to ExtraTV, Tom stated he believed there needed to be “two or three” categories, rather than a single award for ‘Best Stunts’.
“When I saw it, I was like 'At last!' But it's like ‘It's not enough' to be fair, if we're really being honest. It's a good start. Brilliant, and about time.
“Now, the rest, the other two or three categories… It's Best Stunt Design, that's not enough, because that's already an umbrella and there's so much within that world of stunts... We need more categories under that umbrella, but it's a great start."
Tom’s latest television role, MobLand, sees him starring as Harry Da Souza, a fixer for the Harrigan crime family led by Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren.
The programme premiered on March 30, 2025, on Paramount+ with episodes dropping on the streaming service every Sunday.
