A British holidaymaker in Turkey has been left cursing the "beyond shocking" reality of her trip, taking to social media slam her travel experience.
Solo traveller, Suzanna shared a video of her grim surroundings in Mamaris to TikTok amid torrential rainfall hitting her resort. But that wasn't the only issue she had, as she also branded the resort a "rip-off".
Suzanna shared footage of the gloomy weather as she captioned it: "16 hours of rain non stop, 1 May 2025."
She then proceeded to share footage of her day, showcasing the drenched streets and her hotel pool - with not a soul in sight. "Things are beyond shocking for me in Marmaris, it's getting worse by the day," she said, pointing to another Brit who had just forked out "£100 for a coat ahead of a safari ride in the rain".

Suzanna went on to curse her luck further, noting that back home in the UK, people were basking in the sunshine in what was the hottest beginning to May on record. She added:"It's going to be the hottest day of the year in some parts of the UK reaching 30C so I thought I'd let you know how I'm getting on with the weather in Mamaris.
"The good thing is I can do some work in my room, but what I wanted to do in Marmaris is go for a massage but they're trying to up-sell me everything so no I'm not going to do that. The rain is due to stop tomorrow (May 2) luckily, which is good as I'm moving to the five-star, all-inclusive Prime Beach."
Suzanna soon returned with a follow-up clip, meanwhile, slamming the "tourist traps" she has experienced in Marmaris. "They rip you off in restaurants," she fumed. "In some places it is cheaper than the UK here, but in some self-catering areas the prices are crazy. It's nothing to do with inflation - it's pure greed and they are ripping you off."
"You definitely can't deny the atmosphere if that's your thing," she added, before claiming one particular bar has significantly reduced the sizes of it's £10 cocktails. "Basically you're paying £9 for two glasses of juice. It's £8 for a kids' meal here - in Turkey it's more expensive than the UK.
"And then adults' meals - people like English food here and it's shocking. Pasta, which I know isn't English but we all enjoy it, is £12. Sausage and mash is £15, pie and mash is £15 and if you want a steak you'll be paying anything from £25 upwards. It's just pure greed and they're ripping people off."
"I went last year to Marmaris and it was very expensive," one TikTok user responded. While another added: "Absolutely agree, was there a week ago in Antalya - bag of crisps, bag of sweets and a pretzel was £25. Definitely won't be going again."
A third person concurred: "The prices have gone through the roof the past few years." Whilst a fourth admitted in fear: "I fly out next week and your videos have really really put me off not in a bad way."
Others defended Marmaris, however, including one person who declared: "Never had any problems with anything, was here last year and here at the moment, good to check your prices before ordering if not all inclusive but honestly so far we haven't had a bad experience at all."
And a second praised: "Was there 2 weeks ago. Had a brilliant time. Going back next year as well."
