TV star Amanda Holden has lifted the lid on her relationship in a rare admission about celebrating two decades of marriage with her husband, Chris Hughes, 51. The mum-of-two gushed as she revealed that their bond still feels "so fresh" and shares her gratitude for their "secure" union.

After first meeting in Los Angeles in 2003, the couple began dating the following year and then got married in 2008 with a lavish and star-studded Christmas-themed wedding in Somerset. Ahead of the release of her new Netflix series, Cheat: Unfinished Business, Amanda gushed as she revealed that Chris came to visit her while filming in Mallorca, Spain. She said: "When my husband came out to visit during filming, I felt grateful to be in a lovely, secure relationship."

The Heart Radio presenter continued: "We have ups and downs like everyone else. But when I was looking at the pain and suffering that some of the people we were working with were going through, I felt so grateful that I had somebody in my life with no complications."

Amanda who co-hosts her new show with Married at First Sight expert Paul C Brunson, added: "My husband and I always have this joke where we go: 'God, our relationship still feels so fresh.'

"Twenty-two years does feel like a long time, but it still feels new to me. I think that's because it's ever-evolving," she added to Hello Magazine.

The couple share two daughters, Lexi, 19, and 13-year-old Hollie, and they live together in a mansion reportedly worth £1.2 million located in the leafy village of Cobham, Surrey.

However, their blissful life didn't come without heartache as Amanda and Chris tragically lost their son, Theo, who was stillborn at seven months in 2011.

Earlier this year, she took to Instagram to honour her kids on Mother's Day and pay tribute to her baby. The star penned: "Happy Mother’s Day. I’m so lucky to have my girls," heartbreakingly adding: "We never forget our son #Theo. To all of you who have loved and lost or are on the path to having a family... My family send you a big hug xxx."

Speaking about the devastating moment on Heart Radio, Amanda shared: "We lost our baby Theo at 28 weeks, and they very sensitively moved me into another room so I could deliver him without having to hear the lovely babies screaming on a normal ward.

"Often that's not thought about, it's little things like that. I remember the lady afterwards as well when we went for a chat also said 'I know you're going home empty handed' is what she said to me.

"So I felt like some sort of game show contestant, so it's all of that language that I know this charity will be helping people to avoid and educate them on how best to deal with something so awful. It's just awful."
