A key member of the Royal Family could help to reunite Prince Harry with his estranged father and brother, experts have suggested. Reports that Prince William "won't stand" for his brother and Meghan Markle continuing to use their HRH titles after stepping back from their duties are just the latest in a number of public rifts within the Royal Family. The relationship between Harry and his UK-based relations has seemed frosty since the prince moved to the US with his wife five years ago, and the revelations in his 2023 memoir appeared to cement his fracture from the Firm.

Some royal analysts think Harry and Meghan want to patch things up with their family members and in-laws across the pond. However, one biographer has pointed to one person who could play an instrumental part in a potential reconciliation. Hugo Vickers, who has written biographies of the Queen Mother and Gladys, Duchess of Marlborough, among others, said he thought Princess Eugenie, 35, could be "the great hope" for a renewal of close ties between Harry and his family.

Mr Vickers told The Sun's Royal Exclusive show: "I think because there was some talk of him going to have a house in Portugal.

"She is the one who is still able to be in touch with them and she, I suspect, could be the one who could link the children together."

Meghan and Harry bought a property in Portugal and holidayed there in 2023, close to the holiday home owned by Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank.

But a spanner in the works of reconiliation plans engineered by the princess could be lingering tension between the cousins sparked by Eugenie being photographed with Piers Morgan last April.

"A dim view was taken of this, as Piers has clashed with Meghan and Harry in the past," a friend told The Sun.

"Eugenie has been supportive of Meghan and Harry for years and was right there at the beginning of their relationship - but is now soured," they added.

Despite this, Mr Vickers said he hoped the friendship between Eugenie and Harry would persist - describing it as "a really important link" for the Duke of Sussex, and among the only remaining ones to his old life in England.

The royal biographer also suggested that King Charles had "left the door open" for a reunion with his younger son, who he claimed has "much more hope of reconiliation" with Harry compared to William.
