Jennifer Lopez recently made headlines as she endorsed Kamala Harris for the 2024 Presidential Election, sending a significant political message to Republicans. On Sunday, J.Lo, 55, took to Instagram to share a clever twist on her classic lyrics. She stated, "Due to inflation, my love will now be costing a thing," as she referenced her 2001 hit song "Love Don't Cost a Thing."
This playful update not only resonated with her fans but also appeared to comment on the current economic climate, as rising inflation has been a pressing issue since the election. Experts have suggested that President Trump's tariffs may contribute to further inflation increases and slow economic growth.
Jennifer's Instagram followers took to the comment section as they shared their reactions to her suprising political statement.
"I KNOW THAT’S RIGHT!" one fan wrote. "I’ve been saying this! Lol," someone else shared. "Add Tariffs to that, Mama," another follower pointed out. Meanwhile, a different Instagram user echoed, "Not me screaming. Don't forget to increase the tariffs."
"Laughed. Out. Loud, " One follower commented. "Todays price is not yesterday’s price," someone else joked," as another quipped, "Times have changed." Yet another fan insisted, "Even if i’m broke i still managed to buy tickets for two of your shows because love does cost something.|
In October, J Lo sent a clear message after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe opened for a Trump rally in Madison Square Garden and referred to Puerto Rico as "a floating island of garbage."
Following Hinchcliffe's controversial remarks, Jennifer spoke at a rally for Kamala in Las Vegas, Lopez where she said was "an American woman" and a "proud daughter and son of Puerto Rico".
"I am a mother, I am a sister I am an actor and an entertainer and I like Hollywood and things.. I like when the good guy or in this case the good girl wins. "I am Puerto Rican," she said, adding: "And yes I was born here and we are Americans."
