It's the ultimate 'must-have' for fans of hit TV show Peaky Blinders - as Cillian Murphy's iconic three-piece suit is auctioned to raise lifesaving funds for a cancer charity. A number of items of clothing and props from the final series of the BBC drama are being sold in aid of The Christie Charity in Manchester.

The online auction is now live for bids until Tuesday 20th May, with other items on offer including a tailored coat worn by the late actor, Helen McCrory, in her role as Polly Gray. A themed event will take place at the Peaky Blinders bar in Manchester to tie in with the final day of the auction.

Marie Toller from the charity said the auction was "a unique opportunity" for fans to pick up rare memorabilia from the show while also helping save lives.

She added: "We are incredibly grateful to the team behind Peaky Blinders for this amazing gesture.

"Not only is this a ‘dream come true’ opportunity for the millions of fans to own a piece of television history, it’s also a unique opportunity to make a difference to cancer patients by supporting the vital work of The Christie."

Set in Birmingham in the early 20th Century, Peaky Blinders was filmed in locations across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire, including Castlefield, The Northern Quarter, Victoria Baths and Salford Lads Club, as well as Arley Hall in Cheshire and Lee Quarry in Bacup.

The auction, which includes a number of suits worn by Oppenheimer actor Cillian Murphy in his role as Tommy Shelby, is being hosted by Omega Auctions.

One of his suits, which starred in the final scenes of the series six finale, includes a handwritten note inside a pocket with the direction 'takes off ring'. Other items include a handmade fur felt hat worn by the actor playing Oswald Mosley.

Cillian Murphy has previously donated items including a coat he wore in series three and a hat from series five to The Christie Charity fundraising ball in 2019.

Additional costume treasures range from lace flapper dresses, velvet dresses, embroidered scarves, and ladies’ shoes to flat caps, jackets, ties, waistcoats, leather riding shin guards, and many other iconic Peaky Blinders costume accessories – which are all be available to bid on.

The distinctive style of Peaky Blinders has made a lasting impression on fashion and pop culture.

The show’s striking look was crafted by original costume designer Stephanie Collie, who hailed from Warrington, and played a key role in defining the TV show’s trademark look.

Following her, award-winning Glasgow-based designer Alison McCosh continued to evolve the visual style through its later series.

Their work not only shaped the Peaky Blinders style, but also sparked a fashion revival that extended from the high street to designer collections.

Even Peaky Blinders super-fan, David Beckham launched a menswear line inspired by the show’s timeless aesthetic!

Dan Muscatelli-Hampson, auction manager at Omega Auctions, said: "These stunning pieces are genuine cultural artefacts – the craftsmanship, history, and star power behind them is exceptional.

"We’re honoured to host the auction and support The Christie Charity in the process."

All proceeds from the auction will go straight to the good cause, which supports cancer patients and pioneering research at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester.

The auction comes ahead of the release of the Peaky Blinders film, set to be released this autumn.
