Gordon Ramsay has opened up about being the parent to six children, with his wife Tana recently welcoming a baby boy named Jesse James in 2023. They already have five children: Megan, Jack, Tilly, Holly, and Oscar, with a 25-year age gap between Jesse James and Megan. Speaking exclusively to The Times, the celebrity TV chef opened up about not having a father figure from the ages of eight to 15 years old, and that he is "proud" of all of his children.
Tilly Ramsay competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021 alongside Nikita Kuzmin, whilst Holly is a model and content creator. His son Jack currently stays out of the limelight and works in the British military, whilst eldest daughter Megan is a production designer and art director. He told The Times: "I’m so proud of all my children. You’ve got to make them graft, to encourage them to be their own person, and I think Tana and I have done a good job so far. We could have opened all kinds of doors for them, but that’s not how it is in life. They need to find their own hunger and ambition."
Gordon added about his upbringing, "I didn’t have a father figure from the ages of 8 to 15, just when you need it most. My father was in and out of my life, and it made me stand on my own two feet from a young age, trying to be the man of the house. It’s not until later in life that you process how it affected you."
In addition to Strictly Come Dancing, his daughter Tilly is a Celebrity Masterchef finalist, a TV personality, and an author. Deliveroo recently recruited her to judge its annual Restaurant Awards.
In recent news, Gordon has returned to MasterChef Australia to judge again. Channel 10 confirmed that the controversial TV judge will appear as a guest judge on the new season of the Back to Win competition.
The legendary British icon will be joined by kitchen regulars Sofia Levin, Poh Ling Yeow, Andy Allen, and Jean-Christophe Novelli.
Gordon last appeared on the cooking competition as a judge in 2018, and the new series is set to drop on April 28. It comes after Gordon was tipped to be an early favourite to replace Gregg Wallace on the UK version of the show.
The Scottish-born presenter leads a star-studded list of potential replacement hosts for the BBC show, with Gino D'Acampo, Matt Tebbutt, and Fred Sirieix also in contention. Other notable names in the betting include Bake Off star Nadiya Hussain.
