RuPaul's Drag Race icon Jiggly Caliente, the alter ego of Bianca Castro, died aged 44 just days after it was revealed she had her right leg amputated. The news was confirmed by her heartbroken family on Instagram.

Their touching tribute read: "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bianca Castro-Arebejo, known to the world and cherished by many as Jiggly Caliente. Bianca passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at 4:42 am, surrounded by her loving family and close friends. A luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy, Jiggly Caliente was celebrated for her infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity. She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world. Her legacy is one of love, courage, and light. Though her physical presence is gone, the joy she shared and the space she helped create for so many will remain forever. She will be deeply missed, always loved, and eternally remembered."

Tributes flooded in for the Filipino drag star from Queens, New York who appeared on season 4 of RuPaul's Drag Race and season 6 of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. She placed 12th during her All Stars appearance and in 2022 it was announced she would be a judge on Drag Race Philippines.

"Oh my god. My heart is broken! Fly high our queen xxx," one wrote. "Will be remembered eternally. We love u," another penned.

"So heartbreaking, such a kind, caring soul!! She will be greatly missed," a third chimed in. "Such an iconic Queen! You’ll be missed and never forgotten," a fourth added.

A fifth commented: "Rest in power jiggly. all of your hard work and activism will be remembered both in the Philippines and around the world. Meanwhile a sixth said: "Heartbreaking. Sending love to her friends and family."

The star had suffered health issues in recent times and on Thursday April 24 it was revealed she had undergone an amputation.

Her family shared the news she had endured a "serious health setback" which resulted in her "losing most of her right leg."

"The family of Bianca Castro, known to many as the beloved drag performer Jiggly Caliente, is heartbroken to share that over the last month Bianca has experienced a serious health setback," they wrote in a statement.

"Due to a severe infection, she was hospitalised and, as a result, has undergone the loss of most of her right leg," they said.
