Carol Vorderman has shared a health update with fans after she appeared at the Celebrating Journalism Awards for Reach last night. The former Countdown presenter hosted the prestigious event in Manchester, which recognised the work of its journalists and teams over the past year. The maths genius announced winners and highly commended awards across 27 categories, including Brand of the Year. She also took to Instagram to highlight that it had been the first time Carol had been on a stage presenting for a while.
Posting a lengthy statement, she penned, "About last night. Hosting the Celebrating Journalism Awards for Reach (UK’s biggest newspaper group inc over 120 titles). I bl**dy loved it, Top people. Top journalistic passion. It was my first time on stage for a while because I’ve been properly poorly for months (ugh), but I’m better now …… yes." [sic]
She added, "It’s also given me some ideas politically. Bringing back the fight. I know I’ve been quiet on here. I just needed to get my health right first," with a hands-in-prayer emoji.
One of her followers commented, "Hi lovely Carol. Good seeing you again. This dress you're wearing is so beautiful and makes you so very elegant too. Thanks so much for sharing this. I hope to see more of you soon. Maybe hear you again on LBC or BBC too. Love always. Xx."
Another also said, "Pleased you're feeling better, Carol. Take good care of yourself." A third similarly said, "Good to see you out there again- it’s important to take time for your health when needed. Looking stunning."
