Meghan Markle took a subtle dig at Piers Morgan after sending a jar of her new As Ever jam to a surprising recipient. The Uncensored presenter has been vocal over the years about his criticism of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The 60-year-old recently dubbed Meghan's new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan as "unwatchable". In 2021, the journalist hit out at Meghan and he famously quit Good Morning Britain following a rant about the Suits actress in 2021.
Piers and Alex Beresford had an explosive on-air clash after the weather presenter accused the broadcaster of "trashing" Meghan before he stormed off set. Later that day, Piers quit the ITV breakfast show. Now, it appears the Duchess of Sussex has silently retaliated to Piers by sending a jar of her new As Ever Jam to the GMB weather presenter.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Alex, 44, gushed over the gift, as he penned: "Can't wait to try this! Thank you so much @meghan..."
The former Suits actress also kindly gifted the TV presenter's newborn daughter a large Jelly Cat Octopus toy, which Alex also shared to Instagram, while thanking the Duchess.
The YouTube host has since taken to social media and reacted to the move as he shared a tweet from an article which read: "Meghan 'trolls' Piers Morgan by sending As Ever jam and cuddly toy to VERY surprising recipient."
Piers shared a series of laughing emojis and tweeted: "Oh no.. how will I ever survive this brutal blow?" in a post shared in the early hours this morning.
Meghan's sweet gesture to Alex comes four years after Piers sensationally quit GMB when his show rival defended the Duchess.
She has since reflected on her “mistakes” as she spoke about launching three new ventures simultaneously.
Meghan recently launched her Netflix show With Love, a new podcast and lifestyle brand As Ever, explaining she will be focusing on her family and children going forward.
Speaking at the TIME100 summit on Wednesday, Meghan said it had been an "incredibly busy" time recently, adding that she does not go online to protect her mental health.
