The major dig comes after the Supreme Court has ruled that "woman" in UK law refers to biological sex in a massive ruling, which the Scottish writer has celebrated. Under the Equality Act of 2010, published in full after the judgment, Lord Hodge, Lady Rose, and Lady Simler said, "The definition of sex in the Equality Act 2010 makes clear that the concept of sex is binary, a person is either a woman or a man." JK Rowling and other figures such as Piers Morgan are among the many famous faces to celebrate the court ruling. However, her views have sparked widespread uproar.
Pedro has waded in on the conversation after JK Rowling posted a tweet on X celebrating the decision, typing, "I love it when a plan comes together #SupremeCourt #WomensRights."
Activist and writer Tariq Ra’ouf replied to her tweet, commenting in a video on Instagram, "Don’t watch the show. Don’t go to Universal. Don’t buy a single Harry Potter thing ever. It’s time to tell these corporations that transphobia loses money."
