Gabby Logan previously admitted her son Reuben was less than impressed with her discussing her sex life with husband Kenny. The BBC presenter, 51, has been open about their intimate moments since Kenny's prostate cancer diagnosis in 2022 and subsequent treatment.
Their 19 year old son Reuben found himself the butt of jokes among his teammates due to his mother's frankness.
On her podcast The Midpoint, Gabby shared that Reuben begged her to stop sharing details as he faces teasing at work. "He's like, 'Mum, can you stop talking about your sex life, because now I go into work, they play clips in the dressing room. It would be helpful if you could just shut up for a while'. And I'm like, 'Actually Reuben, next week's episode - just on that'," she joked, before clarifying: "We don't just talk about my sex life, can I just say."
Kenny, aged 52, was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year and discussed his shock at having no symptoms during an appearance on BBC Breakfast with Sally Nugent. He recounted how a routine wellness check led to the unexpected discovery.
"I got a wellness check and sat down with the guy and he said, 'everything's fine but your prostate is high'. I got checked and within three or four months I had a biopsy," he told the host, reports the Mirror.
"This year, in February, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer which was a huge shock. I decided to get it taken out and I'm probably 95% back to normal. When you're told you've got cancer, I literally fell over. I didn't see it coming, no symptoms whatsoever. I had to go looking for it," he said at the time.
He later opened up about his sex life post-surgery with his wife Gabby on her podcast, admitting that while he feels "physically 100 per cent" and "mentally 100 per cent," his sexual recovery has been more complicated. "Six months on, I would say I'm physically 100 per cent, mentally 100 per cent, feel good. From a sexual point of view, it's not consistent," he divulged, expressing that their intimacy was still affected.
He recounted how his surgeon had warned it could take a year and a half to recover fully: "As the surgeon said to me, this could take 18 months. Within a month, I was getting movement, where he says, 'That's amazing'. So it's just not as consistent."
Gabby shared her side of the experience, confessing she may have been too eager to resume their sexual relationship. Speaking to Chris Evans on his Virgin breakfast show, she expressed regret over her impatience: "It's Kenny and I talking frankly about what was going to happen. Because there is a big risk of functionality and not being there. Erectile function can be massively affected and it might not come back. Kenny was very lucky and eventually it did, but it took a while. His wife wasn't as patient as she might have been," she admitted.
