Good Morning Britain was thrilled to have rock legend Billy Idol on the programme on Tuesday (22 April), as he shared exciting updates with hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley.
The 69-year-old star connected through a video link from Los Angeles, discussing his much-anticipated new album—the first in over a decade—and revealing his upcoming tour dates, which include major UK gigs.
However, it wasn't just his career developments that caught the attention of GMB viewers—Billy's youthful looks had fans in awe, especially since he is approaching his 70th birthday this November.
Fans took their amazement to social media, with one viewer posting: "#gmb @BillyIdol 70 next! Looks amazing," while others echoed the sentiment, with comments like: "OMG Billy looks so good for 70!"
One surprised fan remarked: "Can't believe @BillyIdol is 70 this year.... Looking Good, Billy," while admiration poured in with remarks such as: "Morning Billy! GREAT to see you - you're looking AMAZING, WELL - 69 REALLY!!? Good Luck with the Tour /new album (UK)."
General adulation for the icon was also evident, with tweets such as "F***ing love #billyidol #gmb," and fond memories shared by another: "Saw Billy idol years ago at Milton Keynes bowl supporting Bon Jovi. Absolutely brilliant and worth seeing #gmb."
While on the show, Billy Idol gave fans a tantalising insight into his upcoming work: "I've got a new album coming out April 25th, Dream Into It. I've got three duets on the album.
"Joan Jett's on Wildside, I've known her since 1978, after a Dead Kennedys concert. Alison Mosshart's on John Wayne, she's got this incredible voice, and Avril Lavigne on 77 - which came out today!"
He also expressed gratitude to his fans, saying: "I'm just really lucky I've got killer fans who really care about what I do, and they've stuck by me through thick and thin. Hopefully, the music I make has kept them interested. I'm coming to England in June to play Milton Keynes and Wembley. It's getting bigger!"
Billy's excitement is palpable as he gears up for his first album launch in over a decade and embarks on a tour, not to mention his gleeful anticipation at being nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his inaugural inclusion, reports Manchester Evening News.
Recounting his joy, he shared on GMB: "I was part of Ozzy's induction last year, I really enjoyed it. It's a great night, a fantastic night. I've loved rock and roll since I was seven years old, and even just the thought of being in something with Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Bo Diddley, it's pretty amazing, let alone everybody else.
"I really love this music, it's an amazing honour. You also get the chance to thank your fans directly that night. Let's see what happens! Steve Stevens, my guitar player, is going to get in with me. If we get in, yeah!"
