After falling deeply in love with his mother, Katie, Peter Andre played a significant role in Harvey Price's life. The former couple met when they both appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2004. Katie, then a glamour model, was raising Harvey as a single mum after his biological father, Dwight Yorke, chose not to be involved in his life.

As Peter and Katie grew closer, the Mysterious Girl singer vowed to fill the void Dwight left and become Harvey's father figure. Although Peter, 52, never formally adopted Harvey, the two developed a strong bond, and he shared that Harvey would affectionately refer to him as "daddy." Peter was married to Katie from 2005 to 2009, and they had two children together: Junior Andre, 19, and Princess Andre, 17.

Now, at the age of 22, Harvey faces numerous serious health challenges, including autism, septo-optic dysplasia, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, and Prader-Willi syndrome, which leads to constant hunger. Over the Easter weekend, Katie revealed that Harvey's weight had surged to nearly 30 stone, putting him in a "life-threatening" situation, reports The Mirror. 

With a heavy heart, Katie shared: "I'm so heartbroken and gutted that his weight is just going up. I just googled it in stones - 188[kg]. He's literally a few kilos off being 30 stone. It's so life-threatening for him now. I'm still waiting for the doctors to get back to me to start him on the mounjaro and his journey to a healthy life.

"It's so sad his quality of life at the moment, where he's so big, he just can't really do much. It's just another thing I have to deal with because he's at high risk of having a heart attack, he struggles to put on his trainers, he struggles to walk anywhere, but I love him and I'm going to help him through this. So sad, obesity and his condition are sad. It's sad to see someone go through it and he doesn't understand." [sic]

Following their split, Peter remained involved in Harvey's life for some time. The TV personality reflected that he was like a "real father" to Harvey before he had his own kids. Peter revealed, "I have been a real father of Harvey, and he calls me Daddy."

At one point, in a 2016 magazine column addressing the nature of their relationship post-split, Peter stated, "I don't see him all the time, but I see him at events like the kids' sports days."

He said: "Also, there have been a few times recently where he's been to my house and I've been to his. Harvey will always be special to me; I just want him to be happy. He's a great kid. He's such a good-hearted boy, I see him a bit more now, which is amazing. He's just the best, I love him. There's always room for Harvey at our house. I always saw him as my own."

He added: "There's a special place in my heart for him - he's very important to me and he's always welcome. It's just lovely to see him."

Peter has been sending heartfelt wishes to Harvey over time, including birthday greetings. For Harvey's 15th birthday in 2017, he shared: "Happy birthday to a very special boy. Hope you like your prezzies."

After reflecting on the impact of her split from Peter on Harvey, Katie Price said that it "really upset" him. In her 2017 memoir 'Katie Price: Harvey and Me', she revealed Harvey's silent frustration due to his inability to "express how he felt", although he now retains "more than you'd think" about the past events.

She disclosed that Peter's visits dwindled over time, noting a palpable change in Harvey's reactions; no longer keen to see Peter, even when enticed with cake, his disinterest grew alongside the decreasing frequency of visits, she observed.

Katie has opened up about the bond between her ex, Peter, and their son Harvey, notably when Harvey celebrated his 18th birthday in 2020. Although they couldn't attend the party, Katie told OK! Magazine: "No, but Pete sent birthday wishes and bought Harvey a TV. It's hard for any child to adjust to a man not being in their life anymore. I think that's why Harvey is so close to me because I've been the one constant in his life."

In the same year, she lauded Peter for his involvement during Harvey's hospitalisation. Speaking to New! Magazine at the time, she said: "Over the years we've had our ups and downs, but Pete has been really supportive about it."

She continued acknowledging their shared responsibility, stating, "He can't [go to the hospital] without me, so he'll come and visit Harvey with me."

And expressing her appreciation for his efforts despite their turbulent history, Katie added: "Regardless of our ups and downs, the fact that he's stepped it up - I see his feelings as being really genuine."

Adding to the praise, following the 2021 BBC documentary 'Katie Price: Harvey and Me', Peter supported Harvey on social media, commenting: "He's the best," under a related Instagram post.
