Katie Price was left devastated by a text message from her son Harvey. On her podcast 'The Katie Price Show', the mum-of-five opened up about the heartrending text in which Harvey expressed his misery at his residential college. Emotionally recounting her experience, she shared Harvey's poignant words: "Hey mummy, I don't like to stay at college because I've got a bad cough, because I am so bored to stay at college mummy."
He continued expressing his distress, "I am so sad and angry at staying at college because I hate it." Reacting to the text, Katie confessed on air, "It's so sad isn't it? It actually broke my heart when I had to drive off, because he really didn't want to go back."
Harvey faces significant health challenges, as he lives with Prader-Willi syndrome, septo-optic dysplasia which affects his vision, and autism.
Currently, he benefits from residing at a specialist institution that deals with his intricate requirements.
Katie has also shared her "heartbreak" as Harvey is at risk of a heart attack due to his 30st weight, as she said: "'m so heartbroken and gutted that his weight is just going up. I just googled it in stones, 188kg is just a few kg of being 30 stone.
“It's so life-threatening now, I'm still waiting for the doctors to get back to me starting on the mounjaro and his journey to a healthy life.”
She continued: “It's so sad his quality of life at the moment where he's so big, he just can't really do much.
“It’s just another thing I have to deal with because he's at high risk of having a heart attack, he struggles to put his trainers or struggles to walk anywhere but I love him and I'm going to help him through this.
“So sad, obesity and his condition is sad, it's sad to see someone go through it and he doesn't understand.”
Reflective of the journey, Katie voiced her sentiments during a BBC interview over three years ago, where she came to terms with allowing external assistance for her son, stating poignantly: "It does come to a point where sometimes you have to let go and let other people help."
