The Duchess of Edinburgh shared a very sweet moment with Sarah, Duchess of York as they left St George's Chapel, Windsor today following the traditional Easter Sunday Matins service. Sophie, who is well-known for being an immensely popular member of the family, left the Deanery and walked arm in arm with Sarah back up the hill to the Castle.
While Sarah had arrived at the service in a car along with Prince Andrew, Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, she decided to leave the celebration and share a special moment with her close friend. Sarah's arrival at the Easter service came as a delightful surprise to royal fans as she previously decided not to attend the annual Christmas celebrations in Norfolk along with Prince Andrew.
Other royals in attendance included King Charles, Queen Camilla, as well as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
The sweet pictures show the two Duchesses walking with their hands on one another's backs as they made their way back up the hill from the chapel to enjoy the rest of their Easter Sunday.
Sophie, who was wearing a long dark purple coat, contrasted perfectly with Sarah, who looked impeccably dressed in one of her trademark tailored jackets.
It was a joy to see Sarah in the royal fold again after she had previously cancelled her planned appearance alongside her ex-husband at the family's Christmas celebrations on the Sandringham Estate.
