Shocking body cam footage has emerged showing Sixth Sense star Haley Joel Osment hurling abuse during his arrest for public intoxication and suspected drug possession at a California ski resort.

"I've been kidnapped by a f***ing Nazi," Osment is captured shouting from the back of a patrol car in the police body cam video. The actor, aged 37, also hurled a Jewish slur at one of the officers, as revealed by the footage. Another clip shows Osment being handcuffed after the ski patrol reported his erratic behaviour to the authorities.

Police reportedly found a small quantity of cocaine concealed within a banknote on Osment's person during the incident, reports the Express US.

Ski patrol staff informed the police that Osment had been consuming alcohol at the bar but was refused service after he seemed excessively drunk from just one beverage.

"Good luck," Osment said to the officers as he was escorted to the station.

Officials have confirmed that the ex-child prodigy was detained at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area on charges of public intoxication and carrying a controlled substance. Initially, ski patrol held Osment until the police took over.

Insiders close to Osment disclosed to TMZ that the actor has faced emotional challenges lately, following the loss of his house in the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year.

The source mentioned that Osment's insurance company rejected his claim, forcing him to look for temporary accommodation.

Osment addressed the incident in a statement to People: "Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner.

"The past few months of loss and displacement have broken me down to a very low emotional place. But that's no excuse for using this disgusting word."

Osment has a history of trouble with the law, dating back to 2006 when he collided with a brick mailbox while driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.

He was left with shoulder and rib injuries and subsequently pleaded no contest to DUI charges, which required him to undertake 60 hours of rehabilitation, participate in six years of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and pay a $1,500 fine.
