A Place In The Sun star Jean Johannson is backing her friend Angellica Bell to win ITV's Celebrity Big Brother saying she is "being a support to everyone" in the house. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk the 43-year-old mum of one said: "Angellica is an old friend of mine, so I'm really, really rooting for her. I think she might win it. She's older and wiser and has been in the industry for so long, so I think she's just playing that good game of being a good housemate and being a support to everyone. And she's just likeable. So I really am rooting for Angellica."
Aside from her friend, Jean admitted she is a fan of the casting of this year's show which also features soap stars EastEnders Patsy Palmer and Coronation Street's Jack P. Shepherd, athlete Daley Thompson, reality star JoJo Siwa and Love Island's Chris Hughes to name just a few. "I think the casting's been great, and it's all in the casting for reality shows. It's all in getting a good mixture of people," she said.
"You can't have seven massive, big personalities. That doesn't work. You need to have that mixture of you've got the peacemaker, we've got the nurturer, we've got the troublemaker, we've got the crazy one.
"I think they've got a good mix of housemates this year. I really do," she added.
Despite enjoying watching her friend in the show Jean confessed she would not be making an appearance anytime soon.
"I don't think it would be for me because of that house setting. I think that would become really claustrophobic for me," she said.
"The reason I'd love to do I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here is because you're out in nature, which is something that I love - you know, sleeping under the stars.
"Despite the tarantulas and snakes and all the dangers of being in the Australian Outback, I would just much rather that than being cooped up in a house with the likes of Mickey Rourke."
The Channel 4 presenter continued: "So, I'm A Celeb would just work better for me, because you're outdoors and there's stuff to do. You can go and collect water and do tasks.
"Big Brother I just feel the claustrophobia when I'm watching it," she said.
