Piers Morgan has torn into LBC radio host James O’Brien, accusing him of reaching a “comical new low” after a controversial on-air rant that linked Trump supporters to sex offenders. The Uncensored firebrand didn't hold back as he slammed O’Brien’s viral comments on social media platform X on Wednesday, writing: “Even by O’Brien’s long history of painfully contorted virtue-signaling woke bullsh*t, this is a comical new low.” The outspoken presenter, 60, was reacting to a heated clip shared by LBC in which O’Brien launched into an emotional tirade about Donald Trump’s backers, questioning how they could support the former US President in light of his past behaviour.

LBC’s post read: “How did you end up on the same team as the self-confessed sex offender?” O'Brien asked those who see trans people as a threat: “Is Donald Trump your man?” In the clip, the LBC host dubbed Trump a “self-confessed sex offender" in reference to a civil case held in 2023 where the US President was found legally responsible for sexual assault and ordered to pay damages to the writer. O'Brien's comments come after he defended transgender women amid Britain's Supreme Court ruling that the legal definition of a woman is someone born biologically female.

“There’ll be loads of people who are very supportive, very delighted by today’s judgement who are as disgusted as all decent people are by an awful lot of what else Donald Trump is ushering in and yet I don’t know how you separate yourself from that and make it clear that you wish it was somebody else that done this thing that you approve of, but as it is, it’s the self-confessed sex offender who you’re cheering for – his attitude towards transgender women.”

The ruling states that a government-issued gender recognition certificate, which can provide legal recognition to a person's new gender, is not enough to qualify that person for all of the sex-based protections that are covered by a 2010 UK law called the Equality Act.

"The unanimous decision of this court is that the terms 'woman' and 'sex'… refer to a biological woman and biological sex," Judge Patrick Hodge, deputy president of the Supreme Court, told the court Wednesday, summarising the ruling.

O’Brien continued: “The bloke who really does go around grabbing women by their genitals – he’s your man. I don’t know, do you pause and think: how have I ended up on his team?

"How have I ended up on the team of the self-confessed sex offender? The guy who boasts about grabbing women by their genitals. The guy that sued a woman who accused him of rape for libel and lost. How did I end up on his team?”

Morgan’s post triggered a wave of online reaction, with fans backing his takedown of the LBC host.

Supporters echoed his frustration, with one writing: “Yeah this is poor. But it is O’Brien who is incredibly biased admittedly.” Another added: “It is hard to listen to him.”

While another fired back at O’Brien’s rant with: “Trump’s not just our man he’s the hammer dropping on your delusional circus. Cry harder, James.”
