Strictly Come Dancing professional Kai Widdrington is reportedly taking the next step with his new girlfriend, just months after splitting from his co-star Nadiya Bychkova. The ballroom star has found love again in Chloe Wells, nine months after his relationship with the Strictly pro ended after two years together.
Although friends of the former couple claimed they were “blissfully in love,” they also suggested that the pressures of their public and personal lives were too much to handle. An insider said: “The pressures of touring - being in each other's space 24/7, and the stress of performing a sell-out show eventually took its toll.” However, it seems Kai won’t have this problem with Chloe, who is detached from the world of Strictly as an executive assistant for a London firm.
The dancer reportedly met his new girlfriend at a pub near his West London home, and although they have kept details about their romance private, the couple are set to move in together soon.
According to an insider, Chloe and Kai “hit it off from the start,” and the office worker “has absolutely no interest in the limelight; she just likes Kai for Kai.”
“They have a real laugh together, and although it’s early days, they’re planning on moving in together in the coming months,” they added to The Sun.
“She also isn’t a Strictly superfan, which makes things easier,” the source shared, concluding that they’re “super content” together while Kai is “in a happier place in life thanks to her.”
The Daily Express has contacted Kai's representative for comment.
This comes just days after Kai took to social media with a touching tribute as he announced the death of a fellow BBC star.
In the post, he honoured Brenda, whom he filmed with on The One Show's Big Thank You earlier this month.
Alongside a photo of himself kissing Brenda on the cheek, he wrote: “I was so sad to hear that the star of our One Show Big Thank You, Brenda, has passed away.
“She was an amazing woman and it was genuinely an honour to meet her. My sincere condolences to her family - Brenda - thanks for all you did for everyone - your legacy will live on, rest well.”
