As Meghan Markle releases the second episode of her podcast, a leading expert has weighed in on the clever strategy she is using to keep her ties to the UK.

Following the latest instalment of her Confessions Of A Female Founder podcast, in which she was joined by Indian American lawyer and politician Reshma Saujani, founder of the non-profit 'Girls Who Code', the smart move she is using became clear. Episode two was released on major streaming platforms on Tuesday morning shortly after 8am GMT, with the Duchess of Sussex promoting the global release on her Instagram stories. As a result, the episode was made available to listeners in Meghan's home state of California after midnight, as well as becoming avaliable to fans at just after 3am in New York.

It is a well-thought-out move which brand and culture expert Nick Ede says is to keep building on Meghan's UK fanbase, despite her and Prince Harry's decision to step back from their royal roles and relocate Stateside in 2020.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Nick says: "The release of Meghan's podcast in the morning for the UK to listen to is a strategy for her to gain interest from the UK and build on her UK fanbase.

"Podcasts are very popular in the UK, and most are listened to when people are in the gym or on their way, so this timing plays into that.

"This podcast is also focused on inspiring people who want to get into business and become entrepreneurs.

"There are many exciting female entrepreneurs in the UK, and I think that Lemonada Media will have wanted to get the people in the UK to download it to build on numbers."

In the latest episode, Meghan asked Reshma about her experience with miscarriage, which she had openly discussed before. Meghan also had a miscarriage, which she opened up about in 2020, Prince Harry also touched on the subject in his memoir 'Spare'.

Speaking to her guest, Meghan said: "I have spoken about the miscarriage we experienced. And I think in some parallel way, when you have to learn to detach from the thing that you have so much promise and hope for and to be able to be OK at a certain point to let something go, something go that you plan to love for a long time."

Reshma responded: "Yeah. I feel like you are reading my diaries as that's really insightful as I don't think anyone has said it that way for me but that's right because here I was for so many years trying to get pregnant, having miscarriages because I had auto-immune issues and I got into this kind of scary habit where I would be in a doctor's office and they'd be like, you have no heartbeat."

Reshma added a heartbreaking comment: "And I should have just gone home and gone to sleep and curled up with my husband. But I would just take a breath and I would just show up in a living room, on a stage and just perform. And often times I was just performing to these children that I desperately wanted and I just got really good at that but it was eating me up inside."
