White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood was spotted in tears on the streets of London in her first public appearance since criticising a "mean and unfunny" Saturday Night Live sketch about her teeth. The 31-year-old BAFTA-winning actress seemed visibly upset as she walked through central London before meeting up with House of the Dragon star Ralph Davis.

The star was seen being comforted by Ralph, who embraced her as she wept openly on the street, and despite keeping a low profile, Aimee looked effortlessly stylish in a casual ensemble. Opting for a makeup-free look, she donned a burgundy baseball cap, possibly to maintain some anonymity. In photos obtained by the MailOnline, Aimee is seen sobbing into Ralph's arms before they settle down at a cafe for coffee.

After being comforted, the actress appeared to regain her usual cheerful demeanour, smiling and laughing while enjoying a seemingly amusing conversation as they were seated outside a restaurant.

The past few days have been challenging for Aimee following SNL's skit, which made fun of her distinctive teeth. Fans of the actress also criticised SNL's writers and producers for greenlighting a White Lotus parody that ridiculed her unique dental features.

The comedic segment that has stirred controversy featured Sarah Sherman mimicking Aimee with oversized prosthetic chompers and centred around the fictional activities of US President Donald Trump and his entourage at the mock White Lotus hotel.

During the parody, Sarah's portrayal of Aimee's character, Chelsea, poked fun at her dental traits by inquiring: "Fluoride? What’s that?" Following the show, Aimee then shared her thoughts on Instagram fans confessing: "Whilst in honest mode, I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny".

Amiee, who burst onto screens in Netflix's Sex Education, said she was "not thin skinned" and understood that SNL was about "caricature".

"But the whole joke was about fluoride," she wrote on Sunday. "I have big gap teeth, not bad teeth. The rest of the skit was punching up, and I/Chelsea was the only one punched down on".

The actress also added that she was not "hating on" Sarah Sherman but instead "hating on the concept".

The team behind SNL have since extended an olive branch with an apology as Aimee disclosed in her Instagram stories that the show's executives got in touch, and alongside a selfie, she wrote: "I've had apologies from SNL."

In the show, Aimee portrays Chelsea, a yoga instructor attempting to help her boyfriend Rick overcome his past and manage his violent tendencies. The final episode of the series unveiled the tragic fate of both characters, leaving fans heartbroken over the demise of Aimee's character.
