Helen Flanagan has opened up about selling the eight-bedroom house she purchased with her ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair after struggling to afford the £1 million property alone. The former Coronation Street star admitted she was upset about downsizing where she lived with her three children, Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three, for four years.
The actress also said leaving the Bolton house would be bittersweet after ploughing her savings into the renovations. Helen said: “It actually makes me sad that I'm going to be leaving soon because I actually put so much effort into it. When we moved, I put like a lot of my savings into doing the house up and making it look really beautiful.”
She continued: “But it's a big house. It's an eight-bedroom house, which is obviously really hard to keep on top of.
“I feel really lucky to live here and well, soon to have lived here, because it is gorgeous, but it's a lot to keep on top of.”
On the Declutter Hub podcast, Helen added: “It was really nice to have this space. I think I'm going to struggle because obviously I will be downsizing so much.
"I think it will feel from living in such - I really want this to make me sound really down to earth because I am, I don't want to make me sound a certain way, but I think because I've been living in a house that has been bigger then it will feel weird.”
Although she’s unsure of where she will move her family, the actress previously revealed that her mother helps out a lot with the children as professional childcare is now too expensive.
Speaking on her financial woes, Helen admitted: “My job really is being a mummy at home. Their dad works away. I earn money on social media, but it kind of varies really what I earn.
“I used to earn quite well from it but I haven’t done so well the past year. I think it’s just what happens sometimes. It's just what happens, really.”
Following their break-up, Helen has moved on and is now dating ex-footballer Robbie Talbot. After going public with photos from her birthday party, he regularly appears on her social media pages.
