Wetherspoon fans are in for a treat as the iconic chain is to open 13 new boozers across the UK in 2025. With an existing portfolio of 796 venues, Wetherspoon is on track to surpass the 800 mark by the end of the year.
Despite more than 34 pubs shutting every month on average during 2024, the highly popular chain is renowned across the UK for its affordability and their unique architecture, often being restored historic buildings. Wetherpoon's new pubs will be based in major cities, including Bath, Manchester airport and London, as well as sites in Kent, Devon and Wetherby. The company has its eye on opening an array of locations before the summer so Wetherspoon fans can enjoy an alfresco pint in the hopefully British sunshine.
Already, two new pubs have been unveiled this year in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and at London Waterloo station.

Beaconsfield - Station Road
Wetherby - High Street

Kent Coast - Kent
Haggerston Castle - Northumberland

Wetherspoon boss Sir Tim Martin has also called for his pubs to be allowed to stay open for longer as he pushes for extended licensing hours.
The JD Wetherspoon chairman told the Daily Star: "We open until 1am in most pubs at the weekend, but if we opened for another hour maybe that would be a good thing."
Martin added: "We open from 8am to 1am on the weekend and from 8am to midnight on the other nights - but if you put in a good word for us we could open all night!"
He has also revealed that the company is considering opening pubs overseas and is exploring international franchising opportunities.
He previously told The Sun: “We are looking at it. We think there are probably 100 to 200 franchise partnerships in the UK. Now it's a question of going abroad and it's a possibility.”
