Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash have come forward to address why one of their children is conspicuously missing from their new BBC reality series, 'Stacey and Joe'. The duo, who share a blended family, have shed light on the absence of Joe's son Harry, from a previous relationship, from the show. On the Parenting Hell podcast, Joe explained that Harry, who is nearing 18, currently resides with his mother, away from the family's residence at Pickle Cottage.
Viewers had been puzzled by Harry's non-appearance, prompting discussions across social platforms. On X, previously known as Twitter, one user remarked: "Wow nothing like exploiting your kids. And also Joe saying "5 kids" in the intro bit totally forgetting he has a son of his own."
Another inquired about the whereabouts of the second eldest boy, questioning: "Where is the second oldest boy.... is it Leighton? Why is he not on show?"
Stacey, a mother to two sons from past relationships, including 17 year old Zachary, expressed her anticipation for him to start shouldering more responsibilities within the household. She touched upon this during a conversation about their hectic school run routine, revealing that Zachary is due to sit his Driving Theory Test soon, which could mean he'll be helping out with driving tasks soon, as reported by the Mirror, reports Kent Live.
Stacey was brimming with excitement as she declared: "I can't wait," looking forward to the extra help at home. "I'm going to have someone to help with the food shops. He's going to be able to do his own school run. Life's about to get really easy."
She expressed hope that Joe's recent driving test success would lead to him contributing more at home, saying: "I'm hoping that with his newfound responsibility of driving, he'll pull a bit more weight."
As viewers watched, many concurred with Stacey's sentiments, suggesting it was high time for Joe to increase his efforts and shed the "liability" label.
Their occasionally chaotic home life led some fans to describe their relationship as "a very weird and dysfunctional relationship.."
One forthright viewer commented: "It's a minor miracle that Stacey Solomon hasn't murdered Joe Swash by now."
Despite her frequent exasperation with Joe's laid-back attitude, Stacey admitted to feeling envious at times: "I just don't think he thinks. Whereas I feel like I spend my life thinking, 'Have I done that, did I remember that ... I dunno'," she mused. "When I come back, I wanna be Joe Swash. It's an easy life."
